18in 'RRS' wheels on ebay |
|
Think I might go for these... I'm watching them to see if they go as mad as the HSE ones have been recently.
Range Rover Sport 18" Alloy Wheels and Tyres
They look the same as D3 SE ones to me. The tyres look a bit unevenly worn, but it's the rims I'm after anyway.

Haven't had the opportunity to do so since Langdale Quest, it's been a mud free zone (and I'm starting to get very fidgety! Roll on Yarwell!)
Actually, I'm after one to replace the silly steel spare - if I end up buying these I'll try and hawk the others off to other SE owners who went for the 'cheap' option.

Good luck with these, they look very nice. Wiser sages than me will know but are these different width compared with the D3 18"s or is it the 19" that are 1" wider???

I asked the seller to confirm what tyres are fitted early this morning. RRS are 55s but D3 should be 60s. No response yet.
As you say the 19" are going a bit high at the moment - I was planning to go for the current ones but....
You go for the 18" though, if you are interested - hopefully the reply will be useful

The response was: -
"255/55/R18 109V" so it looks like the tyres would not be ideal for the D3

Well, given my concern about the uneven wear, this means that the price is going to have to be a good one. It's unlikely I'd be able to sell such tyres on. Hoping for a price that's fair for rims only. Not holding my breath - it is ebay after all.

easiest way to pick up a good set of 255/60 x18 is to look for somebody selling 18" RR rims (from the L322 RR), thats latest shape full fat model, not the sport. Loads usually on fleebay, as these guys all want the bigger bling alloys, and just cant give the 18"'s away.
example: ebay item eBay Item No. 280034970773
Nothing to do with me by the way.

I have a set of 19" FFRR rims on the wife's D3, was advised when sorting them out that as they were 2006 rims there would be no problems fitting. whether that means prior to 2006 rims would not fit, I don't know. Certainly the 18" 2006 rims in http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BRAND-NEW-GENUINE-RA...dZViewItem look very nice & with new tyres as well!

I wasnt actually thinking about using the alloys, just buying them for the tyres, but you are correct, pre 2006 FFRR alloys use a different wheel nut, which i dont think fits the D3. (although same pitch circle, and i think same hub hole size)

Hmmmm, reserve not met, but I had the highest bid @ £310.
What do you reckon I should offer the seller? Anything? Did I already go beyond what a set of 4 SE rims are worth (with used RRS tyres)?
I think I'll sleep on it. I never make good decisions after a bottle+half of EL Bombero.

I was thinking about these. Agreed thet look the same as D3 wheels. I phoned a couple of dealers to see if they are exactly the same. This was a bit inconclusive but one delar did mention that the part nos are different between the two vehicles and that he thought there was something different about the hub.

£137.50 per wheel & tyre isn't too bad is it? 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021
