Just a note on this, if you try and do this without waiting a couple of minutes for the car to go to sleep and then wonder why nothing works any more its because you blew one of the 30amp fuses (I can't remember which one precisely) which lives in the under bonnet fuse box..... I know this

There is a permant live behind the rear 12v socket, it's for the towing electrics. You can pick that up and wire it in, can't remember the colour of the wire at the moment but if you do a search for it I'm sure it will come up as it's been asked a few times.
It is a thick-ish wire, green with a brown stripe New gearbox & TC, 3 x front wheel bearings, belts changed, new oil pump, new battery, new rear prop, new front prop, new front diff, front arb refurbed, front cv boot kit, egr blank and BAS software patch, full rear suspension / drivelive rebuild, new front arms, LED trailer light fix, split charge.
Never had a 107, 90 or 127, but have had most of the rest!

Bypassing the relay has solved a long-standing issue for me - how to have the mag-mount amber strobe remain running on the roof with the keys out. With a bit of practice I can now have the glove box dropped, the relay extracted and the temporary strap installed in a matter of moments.
The first time did take longer - dropping the relay into the void below the fuse box does have a certain entertainment value.

Why don't you leave it like that?
or fit a separate power outlet in the upper glovebox for the strobe

Ah, well the strobe is off the rear socket and I didn't fancy having the Bluetooth adaptor permanently on that fed from the front. It's only a temporary requirement whilst I'm Service Crewing at a large-scale Scout/Guide Camp and unblocking toilets by the dozen.

The radio should have always come on without the ignition on, and it will turn itself off after a set period of time to conserve the battery. Now gone - D3 Zambezi silver. Smoked / limo windows, various LEDs, DVD in headrest screens. Side steps, GG AT's, software and Bluetooth upgrades by Bodsy.
