4ft Body Lift
I'm fed up with knocking off the lower trim on the drivers door so I have decided to go for a 4ft body lift.
A New Engine
Head gasket failure on the NS bank. I was happy for the engine to be repaired but LR have insisted that the engine is replaced. In the Beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

- a complete body off job to replace the engine!
I'd be checking very carefully for squeeks and rattles after that.

Just one of thoes things I guess.
Nothing to do with the fact that its done 68,000 miles mostly fully laden and flat out, dragged heavy trailers. Dont think its gone more than a week without being up to is a** in mud. In the Beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

Andrew... this looks bad.
Did your dealer say anything about why it failed after only 68K miles ? I heard on another forum that Jag are having problems with this engine - water ingress somewhere I recall. Not sure if it affects the LR version though.
Can you find ? Has anyone else heard the Jag rumour ?

Have you got a decent photo of the chassis assembly?
When we did the factory tour, we saw these two halfs being put together. The body and interior is built seperate to the chassis, engine and drive gear. Then the body is dropped onto it and fixed with 6 or 8 (it was a small amount considering the size of vehicle) big self tapping bolts.
This process is very late in the build, so I'm not completely surprised that a dealer would (or could) take the body off again.Matt

Gareth I will try and get one, I took the pics with my phone and I was laughing when I took the engine/chassis pic.
Matt J V Like lift the body's off quite often. Fuel pump replacement fuel lines etc.
It does look a bit extreme but it is quite easy, the good thing is that it blocks a hoist until the vehicle is sorted. So they have got to get it fixed before they can start another. In the Beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

Hi Andrew
When did this happen? Have you got an engine number? Your engine could end up back at our 'engine evaluation' unit at DEP. I'll ask around.... Disco 5 HSE Lux

I thought it was problems with the carbon fibre becoming porous and letting water into the sump? could just be urban rumour though...
hopefully this'll be engineered out of the TDV8
