Drove from Manchester to Aberdeen and back to Newcastle yesterday and today, anyone see me about? I saw loads of D3s on the road, but I didn't see any disco3 stickers, mostly due to the weather being like this:
It took some concentration...
Also while I was out, this happened:
Followed shortly by this:
That was on the A697 between Greenlaw and Morpeth, which this afternoon was covered in standing water. It was brilliant fun!
Just to fight the tide of negativity that is inevitable on this type of site, I have to say that the last 10,000 miles have been the best of my life and the car has performed better than any car I've owned in the past. Absolulutely no issues whatsoever. Long may it continue.

We had a superb summer holiday in Orkney this year. Fantastic place and everything 5000 years old.
How long was the trip from Manchester to Aberdeen?
Didn't do it direct, but it was 4 hours Manchester to Newcastle (that's Friday afternoon traffic, it's normally 2.5) and 4.5 hours Newcastle to Aberdeen.
That's absolutely no help to you at all, is it.
I did find that Google Maps is very pessimistic about the journey times, it reckoned on 6.5 hours Newcastle to Aberdeen.

last time I drove to Aberdeen it took me 6 hours including 1 stop, that was a good run.
I once drove from Aviemore to John O Groats and that took 4 hours. I reckon to drive from Manchester to John O Groats in one hit would be a tall order. Must be a 12 hour trip inc stops.
Are you sailing or flying from Aberdeen ?
I'm flying to Aberdeen on Tuesday. I would normally drive but I only have one meeting and need to get back same day.
