I've recently had the DSC kick in whilst 'cornering at speed' (not really but I guess the car thinks that )
Happens mostly when leaving the motorway and slip road curves left or right, unless I reduce my speed right down to 30 / 40, the system activates (ABS kicks in and slows vehicle down). The whole experience gives traffic following a bit of a moment not to mention the uncomfortable sensation from a driver perspective.
Are there any checks I can make to verify the DSC is working correctly ?

Usual cause of this kind of thing is uneven tyre pressures.
Worth a check as it is an easy fix!!

Does it run straight on a flat level road? Someone much more knowledgeable than me told me that if the tracking is even slightly out then it can cause this problem becuase the steering wheel position is ever so fractionally out of kilter with exactly where the wheels are pointing when you go round a bend at speed causing the car to think that it is skidding.
Just a thought.

The short answer is not really
I've been chipping away at possible causes for it not handling properly, it's been "nervous" for some time. Work thus far includes:
New front wishbone bottom bushes
New Steering rack spindles
New Track Rod ends
New Bottom ball joints
New tyres
New suspension silencer
New suspension filter
Tracking reset
Steering has been recalibrated
Think I need new ARB bushes (will probably do both front and rear)
Don't ask how much it has cost thus far - only had the car 6 weeks

Noticed this morning that the rear wheels appear to have a significant 'negative camber' (leaning in at the top) - whilst I believe the NC is a good thing, I'm not sure if it should be so marked that I can readily see it from a visual check.
Suspension is in access mode at the moment, perhaps it will change if normal ride height is selected ?
I'll try to post a piccie later.

It's normal to visibly notice negative camber in access height.
It shouldn't be excessive, but definitely visible.
It should go back to normal when at on-road height 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE Auto Buckingham Blue

That's both good news and bad news - means I'm still looking for the nervous ride reasons
Cheers

So, tyre pressures were ok? “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

I had this issue immediatly I changed my first set of tyres from the factory Goodyears (?... cant remember), to michelins. I complained and complained for 100.000kms. I have eventually fitted Toyo's (19inch) which have been so good that I have had to put the car into a drift on a shingle road to make sure DSC was working. Prior to that Mich's were making DSC go off on tar seal every left hand corner at around 30km/hr.... must be rubber compound.... but Toyos are coming up to 50000km with more to go and not a murmer in anger from the DSC. Near enough 40 degrees South!!!
