Seat rattle

i have an annoying rattle comming from behind the drivers seat, I thought it was the rear door trim panel, but my dealer tells me its the rear seat. I've folded it in to the access position while driving and sure enough alls quiet. The dealer can't see anything obvious and would like it for a full day to exmamine the the seat properly. Anyone had thie before? I put some insulation tape around both floor catches in case the latch was rattling on them but its still as bad.

Thanks

Ally

Get the occasional squeak if you go over a big pot hole in the road.

In Simons case the squeak could be mice, but Ally's rattle is possibly his money in his back pocket Razz

I am getting somewhere on the seats now guys. It appears that an electric seat with cloth trim is made for Africa and similar countries. Getting there buit a bit slow. Basicaaal LR CS don't know their products at all.

I have the same problem, my dealer has looked into it and has found that the seat frame neads replacing. Unfortunately this has been on back order for a few months now.

BN... no mice in my car except for the one in my PowerBook bag.

Seems the seat fixings on one of the 2nd row needs a bit of grease is all... will sort it at the weekend.

The sheep make a bit of noise though when sat in the 3rd row Wink

Ally,

similar rattle from same location. started last week, dont know why. have had the vehicle for 6 months, no rattles before. same solution, lower the seat back and put in lower position and rattle stops.

Taking it to dealer for 7500 check up this week, will have them look at this. will post any information

Squeak gone... the third row rubber mat was being pinched by the seat so was not secured properly.

Have noticed the 2nd row do vibrate a lot over bumps in the road so I expect rattles to appear as the car gets older.

Rattle gone, was being caused by an "adjuster bar" vibrating on the rear seat. Dealer also tell me they have done a software update for a park brake fault. This only happenend on the one occasion with no actual fault apart from the lamp on the dash.

More worringly though, today in York its bucketing with rain first for a week or so. The woman in front of me at the service desk is picking up her Freelander from its service. It was reccomened to her that the front brakes required replacing and she was advised not to drive the vehicle as the tyres were illegal. She said how bad, they said 0mm of tread. She said how long to change them, they said an hour roughly and £60 each. Which I thought a reasonable price. She said can't wait have got to pick my kids up!

I was shocked! Even considered reporting her to the police.

Ally, Glad the rattles gone.

The woman not only displayed total disregard for her children, but for others and is very silly. Thats one very good reason for driving a D3 or RR. Irresponsible idiots on the road next to us like her are the first to complain also.

There is one point however, why on earth didn't the dealer contact her earlier during the service time to say about the tyres?
