Shooting and Motor Bikes
If anyone is interested im taking the D3
my Yamaha WR 400 and my Winchester 22-250
out to my mates 30000 acre property in about 3 weeks for a weeks R+R
to do a bit of pig shooting and pretend farming.
my wife and i go out every year about this time
my 20 year old son and my 16 y dauhgter are coming this year as well
For all you sunlight deprived pommies, my mates wife is a scottish lassie wonderful girl
cant wait to get there, clear sunny days, unbelievable starry nights
good food good wine good fun
its about a 7 hour drive from my place
when he comes to visit me it takes him less than 2 hours
he flies his own plane. he has graded his front road and uses that as his runway.

When can we come? In the UK we are starting to get boar in bigger numbers but they recommend a much bigger calibre than 22-250 (270+) 22-250 is only a fox calibre in the UK as legislation means you can't use it on deer either. the good thing about the 22-250 is how far it will shoot flat
mine is sighted for about 300m
i have no trouble knocking over pigs with it

I have used the 22-250 on foxes here but prefer a .243 or even my fathers' old sporterized .303 for pigs, goats etc. The .303 is apparantly quite effective on water buffalo too. Worst gun I ever used was a lever action 44-40 which was accurate to about 10 paces.Disco 2 TD5 "Good"

the 44/40 is a shocker, i had one when i was a kid
i cant wait to go to my mates place, the wide open spaces and
clear blue skies remind me of my youth. my parents had a farm in the
riverina
ill load up the Disco and put the bikes on the trailer and head off
about 7am on monday the 10th. cant wait
