Really useful all this as I was wondering what to do with my alarm module when i fit a DC/DC charging unit in that location. My siren control module is a YWK500040 so am assuming ill be fine without it (horn much louder). Has anyone just moved the module and if so where to? Always nice to have the option.....
Great site this

Well traded in the old D3 for a MY12 D4 last week. No I don't miss the armrests one bit.
First mod was to pull the wires on the sounder ........BUT no horns and no siren. Has anybody managed to do this successfully?.

How do you do this as they pictures are no longer up?
Wanting it done as there's been a few car thefts in the area including a good friend's car stolen last friday, car's still missing.
Came out to mine yesterday morning to find the alarm had been set off during the night as the indicators did their multi flash..In loving memory of FA54WSK.
Rest well old friend, your work is done.

In the same box as the brake fluid reservoir, unplug the connector on the little black box. Should have (IIRC) 3 wires , all black ones going into it My D3 Build Thread

Shall go out and check it. It's never set the alarm off before and you know where it's parked so unlikely to be a passing car that's done it. In loving memory of FA54WSK.

Try setting the alarm off yourself before unplugging it. I've passed wind louder than that My D3 Build Thread
It was so quiet that I walked past the car in the drive, thinking it was a neighbours car, until I noticed that the sound level was diminishing as I approached my neighbours drive!
Not fit for purpose - in my opinion. I can't even hear the alarm in the house 30 yards away with doors & windows open!

I was in a double garage with the door closed the first time mine went off. I did not know it was coming from the car.
