Well, I have just completed todays scientific experiment. Set the volvo sounder alarm off, left it going for half a minute, then went and asked family and neighbours what they heard, and the answer, nothing. And its Sunday, very still day with no wind. With the plug out and the horns going, they were all hollering and shouting for me to turn off the racket. On that, the plug stays out. 2005, TDV6 S, Auto, 190k miles, owned from new, V8 Brake Upgrade, Nancom Evo, RLD protector, BAS EGR blanking & Remap, separate ATF cooler, changing all the fluids ahead of time.

I also would like to see the pics as I have also just found how pathetic the alarm sounder is.
Seems my alarm is setting itself off (noticed the indicators flashing a couple of times) but did not hear the alarm sounder from indoors. Even my neighbour wasn't taking any notice of it.
Just wondering if this false alarm situation is worth a trip to the local dealer?

thanks wiggs, that should help me identify the wires
Now all I have to solve is why the alarm activates itself every 30 mins or so

Wiggs....I have had a look under my hood and found the connector...strange though, it doesn't come off like I hoped and I noticed your connector has had a "re-design"
Did you forced the connector or...
Do you have to cut out some part...

Interestingly, the alarm on my car went off last w /e ( not sure what set it off ) and it sounded the horns, have LR changed something on the MY 08.5 because I haven't unplugged anything. I'm not as good as I once was........but I'm as good once as I ever was.

Argh! I just logged on to refresh my memory on how to do this for the new car and I read this! Right, let's see if it works via the horn before I disconnect anything...... I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Nope, mine still has WeedyAlarm (tm).
Or at least it will for the next 2-3 minutes until I get out there and sort it out. Perhaps your backup sounder is shagged?

I have not modifiyed it in any way After swearing a lot, I can confirm you lever the catch (shaped a bit like a hurdle) up. Not easy mind you..... I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.
