Increase of ground clearance For Disco 3 with spring coils?

I have one of the rare Disco 3 models with spring coils. I like the simplicity and reliability of this suspension but I don' t like the standard ground clearance of only about 18,5 cm. I would like to increase ground clearance with some 4-5 cm and I'm wonfering if there is anything on the market for the Disco 3. I only found a set of spring coils from Old Man Emu, but maybe there are some more alternatives? Do I oyhetwise need to change chock absorbers as well if I use slightly longer/harder spring coils?

Welcome!

I have Old Man Emu coils on my Jeep, love them to death! Can't beat them, JMO. Coupled with Bilstein shocks, it feels like an air suspension LR3! Shocked 8)

Hi Spiken,
I, and others in Oz, have fitted the King Springs. 60mm lift and 30% stiffer springs.

I have kept the original shocks.

Very happy with the result.

Best Wishes,
Peter

Hi,

Old Man Emu List +50mm springs for the d3 05+

On the front they offer two ratings - standard and + 100kg
on the rear they offer two rating - Medium load and +200kg.

Old man Emu advise fitting OE struts, but I do know Koni make a replacement unit.

The Jeep ones are different than the LR ones, (it's IFS with a solid rear axle), but at least with that the stock front shock size is still used with a lift.

I have Kings givin 60+mm of extra clerance which proved to be very helpful in situations and also they make the ride much more refined as handling is way beter and car does not roll as it used to on default coils

Hi Spiken,
I had fitted the KRFR-13 (front) and KRRR-14 (rear).

I see that they now also have heavy duty versions of these springs (KRFR-13HD and KRRR-14HD), but I don't know anyone who has them.

Best Wishes,
Peter

HD version would brake your spine unless you driving fully overland loaded
normal Kings are more than just fine and cope with big loads pretty well, not so long ago carried 530kg + the driver and passenger no issues at all
so highly recommended
cheers

@ grzesiul, I was looking at getting the HD version these give a lift of 60mm according to the catalouge. The normal ones give a lift of 30mm. Are these new spec springs do you think from when you got yours ,i know you get 60mm lift.EDIT= Itdosn't say what lift they give in catalouge but just read reply i got couple of months ago from Pat Ryder who handles imports for Europe. She says normal springs give 30mm lift and i'm just presuming HD version gives 60mm lift. Can anyone confirm the normal versions give 60mm lift?

Hi DD,
Yes, I can confirm that the "normal" King Springs give 60mm lift.
