how many avatars do you have??? every post has another different one. I am worried by the size of your Land Rover picture collection. You do know that the internet has got pictures of "mucky business" as well as "mucky cars"!

I am worried by the number of dealers who are suddenly appearing on this site for 'non-commercial purposes'.
No offence meant here at all Mr LR Dealer, but I reckon this is a double edged sword. It's certainly nice to have you all here (my own dealer included), but I fear it is going to become like a convention for Double Glazing Salesmen. Whilst dealers may have a lot to offer the site, they also have the potential to do harm to the sites reputation and even to their own dealership. One foot out of line with a forum member and it can become a very messy scene. If I were a DP, I doubt if I would allow myself or any of my staff to be overt on here.
There are many people here who have a potential for commercial gain - not just in the motoring world. However, we are all here as enthusiasts (or wingers) for a different reason.
FWIW, I think ALL the dealers on this site should make their names professions and posts less obvious in terms of what they are touting. For all I know, TFC or Slimer could be dealers. The point is that I don't know and I like it that way.
Just my 2p worth.

FWIW I have to admit I'm slightly concerned also, as I always considered D3.co.uk to be impartial - just owners/drivers sharing experiences and recommendations and the site not being affiliated to LR or Ford.
Seems this "line" in the mud is being slightly "smudged" and not by my D3.
But this is just a relative "newbies" point of view.

I agree rogue......but you can't blame salesmen from wanting to take an opportunity to try and sell to a fairly captive audience. Notwithstanding the site rules....I'm surprised we don't have more chancing their arm.
What would be far more impressive to me is a dealer who came on here, read about the difficulties that some are experiencing with their D3 and offered to assist in resolving them.
That would be exceptional customer care, not the lip service given to those words by some who are just after the sale.21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

OK, I take it all back. I think ALL the dealers should come here with their dealership names and push the customer to the side..........
Wait a minute....... I can get that at some dealerships already

Ah but dealers in what?? Is it any co-incidence that they are off to Morocco together??
PS - Agree with you JMC, but what I'm agreeing with, I'm not too sure!

what if we created a corner of disco3.co.uk just for the dealers? it doesn't have to have a cage or lock and key but it might prove useful when someone wants something sorting out
oh and I have mixed feelings on this one. personally I believe people should declare their interest in anything they are giving advice on. Its deceptive for someone to pretend to be an enthusiast if they have some involvement in other parts of the LR world. It may be someone in that situation would not intentionally let that effect their opinions but its not something that I like the idea of. Disco3.co.uk should be for owners or potential buyers, anyone else is here for their own purposes and should declare what those purposes are. ....
