Not happy with your horn?
Found this on an American site. Not quite the dixie-playing horn from the Fairmile meet, but surely better than the feeble LR offering?
Quote:
Replace or supplement your LR3's existing factory horns with the very loud Hella Twin Supertone Horn kit. The kit contains two compact diaphragm-type horns that vibrate when triggered to produce brash sound that is 113 dB loud. One horn produces a 300 Hz low tone, while the other produces a 375 Hz high tone. The horns are compact for easy mounting in confined spaces and feature a red protective grill. The horns come with brackets for mounting. Relay and installation instructions are included with the kit.

It'd be better still to have the pathetic and very non scary alarm system improved.
Had my D3 broken into and the attendant in the car park didn't hear it. Only noticed the hazards flashing. Even purposely setting it off next to an unsuspecting family member recently only prompted a 'whats that noise ?' comment. Didn't even jump
Its crap... the horn is loud enough, the alarm is not worth the bother of having it fitted.
If anyone is interested in these horns, I'm looking to import at least one from EE. PM or post on this thread, and I'll update you with the likely cost of such. I'd think it'd be in the region of £50-£60 when freight and VAT is included.Time flies like an arrow; fruit flies like a banana

Looking at the GTR web site it seems all ready to go just needs to be told what to use horns or the alarm siren.
I'll ask my dealer if they can do it but knowing them they can't.

Worth trying Hella UK directly to see if they sell them in the UK?

An incontrovertable point, but if you can get to the on-line UK catalogue, please tell me how! I can get a French one, but not UK. I'll try hitting the telephone later this week, but the last attempt at contacting a manufacturer direct took over 3 hours and no joy.Time flies like an arrow; fruit flies like a banana

I thought there was a problem with the Volvo alarm unit, and therefore most of the D3/RRS alarms are disconnected by the dealers (there was a fix - another Volvo-marked box - but that didn't help)?
