Looking at the drop-downs at the top of the €399 kit, the GSM module is a cost option - but it's not very clear 06 D3 SE / 15 LR D90 XS SW / 88 LR 90 Td5 / 68 BMW 2000 ti

No problems at all with them now we had a couple of issues but none now it just runs..I think your last post is correct in that the kit is the right one for the D3 and the alarm function is an option as I have seen it in the menu. But I would wait for them to get back to you, you might need to ring them as we had trouble in contacting them sometimes..

Good to know Flack, that the're ok. I wouldn't like to spend 400EUR just to have an unusefull box under the hood Will see if they get back to me after weekend. If not - I will give them a call.

Hi Simon
Yep all running good works a treat both manually and by gsm I think it does throw up some fault codes on my fcr and it does reset the hvac every time I start the car but no big issues and well worth having especially for the icy winter months.

Thanks Flack and Ceekay
What do you think about using it as 'parking heater' also - for example during the night? Is it possible to trigger it manually and have it running for about 6-7 hours? I'm no expert I'm afraid but I'm sure flack will confirm soon but as far as I'm aware the fbh can only run for a preset parameter that is built into the unit itself and therefore you cannot get it to run that long. There is also a max burn time on the danhag system itself. If you purchase the pro unit I think the max burn time is set to about 40mins although mine is the the basic unit and only runs the fbh for a max of 30mins although you can get it to run again a min or 2 after it shuts down. I have the gsm unit or I can switch it on manually in the car via a switch I installed.
I believe there was someone who managed to change the power feed of the fbh over to the aux batt but can't be sure but would love to do this myself if anyone has. You would have to power the fbh itself as the danhag system would use very little power in comparison.
Anyway let us know how you go on and don't forget to get the pro version if you want a longer burn.

The problem with wiring it up to the aux battery is that it will power the danhag module but once its all up and running then the system starts to use the HVAC control module as well and this is run from the cars battery and monitored through the canbus which needs the car battery, so its not worth pursuing to get it to run off your aux battery.
I have the pro software in mine and I can run it as long as the FBH is programmed to run ( some run longer than others) but you have to bear in mind when its run for 40 mins and you have the fans blowing as well it does put a drain on the battery.
I use mine even in summer as its great to get the engine warmed up quicker, this mod is not cheap but one of the best you can do for the cold days of winter.

Simon.pl if Flack can confirm I can run mine with out the Hvac unit I will be happy to sell mine(I only use the FBH function). The units we bought as part of this group buy came with a wire loom to run the gsm unit with out HVAC control( Flack please help). If you want a way to heat the D3 at night look at adding the rear aircon unit(without the aircon part), Discodunc has got one forsale ad an extranal heat source then pump hot water back into rear aircon unit. Maybe us your hot shower unit to do both functions? The rear aircon unit can with a bit of studing of the wire diagram ( I can supply it if you interested) worked of the aux battery. You don't need all the ducting either well just a suggestion. A few mods... and keeping it all running...Faultmate MSV2

Yes I would say you can as the FBH is fired up first then after a measured time the fans are set to kick in and they are two separate units as long as the FBH gets a wbus signal to run from the gsm unit and it has power then I can't see why not.. simple way would be to disconnect the feed to the IPCU and see if it works.

Been a while since my last visit here - sorry guys - haven't seen you'd post some replays
As I promised - here are the answers from Julia (Car-Chief.com) - if anyone interested in buying the unit this year.
"Hello,
yes this is the correct link
http://www.car-chief.com/Heizungs-Aufruest...ce8154755f
the timer 1533 is obtional in case you would manually control the heater.
When you place the order you would need to select the GSM +€48,95 obtion under Bedienelement.
The wiring harness and IPCU module are already part of the upgrade kit.
We won't be doing a group buy this season so the price is a bit more expensive this season."
And after another question (Just to be sure, because I don’t understand clearly.
When I open the link, under Bedienelement I have 1533 as a start option.
The next possibility is GSM +48,95 and the third one is 1533 und GSM +119,95.
So – does it mean that if I want to have GSM controlled Webasto heater AND manually – I should choose the third option (+119,95) and the whole kit costs more than 500EUR?? )
"yes you would have to chose the third obtion when you want both - the GSM Remote Control and the 1533"
So it's got quite expensive..
D4JWW - have you already sold your HVAC unit?
As I just spent a lot of money for Disco last month (gearbox oil change, engine oil change, all brakes, rear suspension elements, second Optima battery, Traxide USI-160 and protection plates underneath the car ) I will have to gather some money to buy another kit...Maybe buying it in parts would be a good idea and then upgrade it to the rear aircon unit for future use..
Thanks for all the info! Wrapped Satin Yellow&Black; Lovells 2" Gas Legend Kit, OME hard springs. ATX 192 17" wheels with Cooper STT M/T tires. ProSpeed Roof Rack & Rear Ladder. You can add a switch to the GSM module to start the FBH manually from inside the car.
