Until I read it I didn't realise this thread was about a question - I thought it was Old Sailor's new claim to fame!!

HDC will work in reverse, forwards, and neutral and command shift.

Try finding a shallow hill to practice on. Engage HDC, Stop halfway up, hold on the foot brake. Engage Neutral, check wheels are straight, and everything is clear behind, release the foot brake and practice letting hdc control the vehicle down the hill. It can initially take a fraction of a second to grab control, which can seem an age and cause a BT moment Shocked , but once it has the descent under control, practice reducing/increasing the descent speed using the Cruise Control +/- button.

I use HDC in reverse alot, the hill down to my cabin is steep and reversing trailers down can be interesting, HDC is a great piece of kit.

Erm confused..... did you mean neutral? If you were travelling up an incline that must have been one hell of a 'knock' to get it to disengage the gear.

Hi Brian,
You are limited until you install the cruise control buttons. You don't need a higher spec vehicle.

Best Wishes,

Does the base model have HDC? (large yellow button at rear of centre console) If yes, then as said, you can upgrade to add cruise control.

Yeah i have HDC. So to upgrade i just need a steering wheel with the cruise buttons??

Might consider that one.

Bri Thumbs Up

No - you just need the left-hand side switch panel.

Whether or not it will work without being activated is a little bit hit-and-miss though.

Some work perfectly by just installing the buttons, some work ok but without lighting up the Cruise Control icon in the dash and others don't work at all.
