Mine is exactly the same as foxeiy described i recently had new compressor fitted at stealers and the service manager commented on this but said nothing was showing up so thinking of blanking the egrs ,slow as f Censored when pulling out of junctions. Mad

when I bought my kit it had instructions to remove the inlet butterfly valve. probably robbed as I paid more than a fiver.
Is everyone just blanking the EGR's?
Never looked back since I did it, now a year

Wildrover - there is a difference between the two methods.

One is to simply insert thin(ish) blanking plates on the outlet of the EGRs and leave the pipes etc in place. The will still obstruct (albeit very slightly) the inlet side of things

The second option is the full kit which you (and I) installed - this has thicker end caps to allow you to completely remove the EGR pipes and seal them off at both ends.

In both cases, you would need to jam open (or preferably remove) the butterfly valve....once you blank the EGRs, then the butterfly valve would effectively strangle the engine at low revs as it closes to try and force the engine to breath the gases from the open EGR valves (which we've just blanked off).

Yeah i fitted the full kit to mine so the pipes were removed fully and i removed the butterfly valve as well, no point jamming it open just as easy to remove it completely.

Its a nightmare to pull away with at the mo, could walk faster !!

Its fixed Very Happy !!!!

Bought the Bell auto kit and blanked off the EGR valves, due to not having enough time to fit it my self had it fitted by a mechanic which cost about £50.00 labour and its all back to normal !!!

Thanks everyone for all your help !!

So for us with EUR4 engines, if when the EGRs go there's only the replacement option (without having warning lights)?

And fuel economy would only improve with a remap?

07MY cannot be blanked. EGR replacement is the only option for EU4 engines...
