shell fuel save diesel
just a heads up.....do not put this fuel into your disco.....filled up last week before heading off for a trip to newquay......ran ok at high speed and in sports mode but pulling off from a stand still or even from a cold engine....the disco didnt like this fuel AT ALL......found myself puling out on islands and being 'dead in the water' with no power to pull away......i have since re filled with sainsburys diesel...still sluggish and irratic...apparently its gonna take another 2 tanks to clear this through

hi kenny i have used this same shell garage a few times and have had no problems but have since found out that they have only recently changed over to this new fuel save diesel.......ive googled the problem and it seems theres quite a few landrover owners and bmw x5 owners that have experienced the problem......i would err on the side of caution when thinking about using shell again

Primo done over 2000 miles on the stuff with no issues, a little better mpg so only worth me getting it if passing. Your symptoms could easily be EGR failure. Are things back to normal after changing to different supplier?
Its not the fuel thats the problem. Its your Landy, it was never designed to save fuel, so is hiccuping because it drinks too heavily on the stuff. 8)
I have run 2 tank fulls through mine with no problems, apart from the £85 per fill that is??? I remember when fuel was 3s 6d a gallon, same price a a packet of johny bags!!! Run silent, run deep!! HM Submarines Conqueror, Churchill, Renown, Ocelot, Porpoise, Onslaught.

My last three tank fills have all been with Shell Fuelsave.
No complaints about how the car runs. Most of the time over those three tanks I have been towing a large caravan. Power and response normal.
Only downside that I can see is that the fuel consumption is possibly even worse than usual (22.5 mpg indicated on the current tank, nearly all towing caravan, will work out at about 20mpg when I do the calaculation after the next fill).

I've used the Shell stuff before and had no problems with it. Mind you I have no particular supplier preference when buying fuel, I generally just get whatever is cheapest or nearest when I need it, the Shell garage just happened to fit that bill a few times when I needed yet another fill-up.
And yes, I can remember getting four gallons for a Quid too Clive
Have been using this since it came out with absolutely no problems whatsoever and no impact ton fuel consumption - but cheaper - winner!
