my car has been in LR for a week

I have a warranty with warranty direct and my car went to LR on monday for the EGR valves and the tailgate cable had corroded and snapped also two front wishbones and bushes need replacing obviously under warranty .....

now LR have been in touch with WD and they asked for mot and last service which i had no problem now 2 days after they want to send there engineer to check and make sure the car needs these parts my question is ..is this standard procedure does it normally take this long to get sorted and has any one had the same experience

lee Thumbs Up

Why would LR care when your last service or MOT were? Your claim is with WD not LR.

mine asked for copy of MOT and service history too,, int he small print it states that these must be carried out in accordance with the manufacturers recomendations blah blah,,

they're just trying to find a reason to wriggle out of paying...

no doubt it's getting close to WD not covering D3's

Yes I have had the warranty company ask that too.

But why would LR care?

It seems LR are requesting this info not WD

It sounds to me like WD are asking LR to provid proof of service history and MOT. IF they can't, claim will be cancelled and policy voided. It depends on the claim itself and how much ut us for as to whether or not they come down to inspect it.

Frustrating though it may be, I think in fairness this is in accordance with their policy process. Wouldn't loose heart just yet Thumbs Up MOT/Service is in the detail - which you've no problem with. Sending out an engineer is also in their detail too. I've had two claims. On the first and engineer was sent out (and they agreed with the diagnosis of the garage), on the second it sailed through (not that I'm suggesting that's related).

When under LR warranty, I had a large claim (over £500), and LR sent an engineer to review - apparently common procedure on claims over £500.

We all know some LR dealers will just replace anything on a whim whereas others are trustworthy and only do what's required. You'd ask questions if you were paying for it. In fairness, it's only fair for WD to do the same. Thumbs Up

Hope you get it sorted. Easy to assume the worst with insurance companies, but my experience has been very positive with them. The timescales may be a little longer, but you paid half the price of a LR warranty, and it will cover more, so there has to be give somewhere. Thumbs Up
