Problem with Removal of Brake Discs

I've closely followed Bodsy's Brake Bible to replace front discs and pads but cannot remove the discs. I have removed the Torx screw and caliper bracket and given the discs some fairly hefty whacks in different places. Have also squirted easing oil into every crevice but they just won't budge. Can anyone suggest a solution please.

They are probably just rusted onto hubs. there is nothing else holding them there so you just need to keep tapping the disc while rotating it
 Cheers Ian

You might try GENTLY heating the disc. You are after a small increase in temperature over a large area rather than a high temperature in one spot.

Are the discs to be scraped?

If gentle heat does not work there are more aggressive approaches.

Thanks guys. Tapping (which was actually heavy hitting with a club hammer) the disc and rotating it did the trick.

Glad you got there. For others that may read this later, hitting the (scrap) disc in an inward direction also works and avoids danger of striking important bits that you can't see behind it.

Glad you got it sorted, Never needed anything more than a gentle tap before, but you never can tell what carp gets stuck there.... Thumbs Up
