My old Alfa 156 (I miss that car Big Cry) suffered juddering wipers, new screen, dirty screen, new blades, knackered blades.

I boughty the Valeo ones as shown on the previous page and damn did they work! If all else fails these may be worth a try.

nb: I don't have a D3 yet, so arm twisting may still be the panacea you seek, but the Valeo approach seems to work.
I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Noisy wipers

Just to say that this problem hasn't gone away. Coming up to 4000 miles, my three month old XS has been faultless - on and off road in every respect apart from those b. windscreen wipers Best car I have ever had and this is my fourth Disco. The problem is that the drivers side blade makes the most irritating groan at the top of the sweep. Fine when the screen is almost dry but as soon as it gets really wet, the noise starts.(Something back to front there - perhaps they're just meant for brushing mud and sand off!) Dealer spent ages - while I watched - changed blades - bent, twisted them. Fine under their test 'shower' - but within 10 minutes, in real rain - back to that groan again. Given what this car cost, it ain't good enough.
