Windscreen - mysterious...

I got home yesterday with the usual permagrin caused by a long working drive in the Disco. I left it, in what appeared to be mint condition, parked my drive overnight. Imagine my shock this morning when I got back in to discover a huge crack in the windscreen that goes from the lower drivers edge to about the middle of the screen across 50% of the width at eye height. This looks like a stress fracture, but I can't see an obvious start or stone chip and I'm at a loss to understand how this can happen overnight while standing still!

Has this happened to anyone else or does anyone know a possible cause?

Also, I've heard some horror stories about monkeys fitting difficult and heated screens badly, so any recommendations about the best place to get this replaced would be greatly received. Is there anything I need to watch out for - I know about the new clips for the 'A' frame trim, but do the rain/light sensors make this an extra difficult job?

Many thanks

Go to your dealer, if it wasn't caused as the result of a stone chip they should replace it under warranty
