| Clunk on first reverse... handbrake? |

Howdee; My 2005 disco 3 has just started making a distinct clunk noice on the first reverse out of my gararge in the morning. I park it the night before, without the handbrake, wack it in park and  off inside for a well deserved beer. Bleary eyed and cold the next morning, I start it, bang it in reverse and get a "clunk" on reverse. I've heard a similar noise before when driving forward with the handbrake on and it auto-disengaging.
Soooo... is this the parkbrake dying or normal or somtheing else?
