Insurance renewal
I have just received my insurance renewal, OMG HOW MUCH!!!
Last year I paid £425, for the comming year £1349, yes I did type it correct £1349. I phoned up to discuss and managed to get it to £637, I asked them why it was so much and they explained that it is due to the fact that it is a 4X4 & premiums have gone up.
I checked with a couple other insurance companies, AA wanted £2008.
I have been driving for 15years, never any points or convictions, 1 accident that was 3rd party faulty (shunted by lorry) about 9 years ago.
Has anybody else experienced this?

D3 is with NFU, and I had to negotiate with them last November to get it down to around £600. Me & wife, she has 6 points.
My son (19) has a Punto, and its up for renewal next month. We just found out that his insurers, Quinn direct are not going to renew the policy. God only knows how much that will be.

Didn't realise Mrs G was such a tearaway Gareth
My premium with Land Rover Insurance (RSA) just keeps going down ....low £600's this year for me and the wife fully comp, which for an address inside the M25 is pretty good IMO....sure it's still slightly more that the others might bleat on about but the peace of mind with the standard of cover and benefits is paramount to me 8) ...as already proven 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

My renewal has just come through aswell,Blimey,I thought mine was expensive it's gone up from £360 to £504 with the nfu,I asked if I'd been mistaken for a drink driver, but then they dropped it by £40 almost straight away when I complained,I have 2 weeks to find a new insurer but may phone again and increase the excess ??? If it brings the price down, i'm not tight fisted but it's a big hike but if anyone has any recomendations I'm all ears, thanks

Hmmm... Makes the £500 I was for a modded STi and the £350-ish (on a new policy running alongside the STi) seem quite cheap then
I knew that we had cheaper insurance up here generally, but based on the figures you guys are quoting, I'm glad it is, just didn't realise it would be THAT different.

mine just come through at £380 with direct line. Fully comp with full no claims and protected. They obviously think we are low risk!

I guess its all comes down to your postcode
I guess so, 'cos I've 3pts as well.
In fact, my sister did an ins quote for her new car (low spec Astra or something) and the difference in price between my folks house and the place she was staying at the time was about 100% more again.

Insurance Renewal
I've been using LV for years ... and havn't had any bother when it comes to claims. They use Broker Assist to sort out the arrangements, courtest car etc .... as well as chase the garage. I would rate LV as 'Excellent'. NatMY95 D1 V8 ES Polar White
