Hey everyone. Got my Tonga green beaut on Monday. Got it for a decent price as it needed a new clutch. That’s getting fitted early next week and the big beast will be hitting the road. Really interested in some upgrades if anyone can recommend a new grille 😁

Hi all,
Thought I'd officially introduce myself. Based in the Northants area. New to Landrover ownership (although I have worked at JLR). I never even thought to consider it until I came accross a cheap Disco3 on copart. A 2005 S in Arctic Frost. Took a risky gamble on it but gave it a go because of the price, wasn't accident damaged, and I already have the SDD software (more of a Jag guy). Luck was with me - turned out it was a dealer trade in, clean body, tidy interior and even has full service history. A couple of faults (smoky, and suspension fault) which have turned out to be really simple fixes. Super happy with the purchase. Will hopefully have an MOT retest next week and looking forward to living the Disco life for at least a little while. Falling in love with this thing. Will probably look at trying to source leather seats, just for the sake of the armrests.2005 Discovery 3 HSE 2.7TDV6 Auto

Hi everyone,
I am Pierre-Alexandre (from France) and I am a LR4 owner since May 2020.
It is a corris grey LR4 sdv6 HSE from france with 130 000 km.
First Land rover for me (previously Corrado G60, GOLF VI, GOLF VII and ford transit custom).
I already changed some parts like front grille, side vent, scuttle pannel. and I am waiting for a center console with USB interface.
Hope to learn lot of things and maybe help members.

Hi, I'm Stein Roger and just signed up to this Forum.
I've been to other LR forums but this seems to be the place to be now that I've got a Disco 3 TDV6. I had a Freelander Td4 for 6 years and it was great, no kidding. I also owned a D4 TDV6 for 3 years but it had to go when I retired and started my own small business. Last year I bought my D3, I just missed the old steamroller so much I had to have one! The D4 and D3 are very similar to drive I find, though the D3 suffers from more turbo lag than the D4. A tune box increased power and torque immensely, but some lag is still present. That's OK, I can live with it.
Having lots of miles on it, or KM as we use in the outside world, I'm sure it won't be fault free. My D4 needed but a set of brake discs and pads in my possession, but parts are affordable and the car easy to work on, it'll be fun.
Thanks
Stein Roger

Hello
Hi Everyone from the Falkland Islands
Have just bought my first Disco 3 after having owned defenders and discovery 1 & 2's. It is a basic 5 seater model with coil springs and no terrain response, which suits me. Just ordered five complete wheels and tyres for it. Hopefully they arrive in March for a trip in April. Considering a roof rack for it but it doesn't have the roof rails so trying to see if there are any options without the rails.
Look forward to finding out the disco 3 capabilities.
Kind Regards
Jeremy

Hello All,
Hello I am Arno, currently living in Bergen, Norway, and owning Disco3 from 2009 for the last two years. Car has been super until it failed. It failed 6 month ago and since then was sitting in different workshops for repair and diagnostic, unfortunatelly without any luck.
Now i pick up the car, brought it to my garage and sorting out main problems.
I do not know should i post my issues here or should i open new thread.

Hi Arno welcome
I would suggest you use the search function to look up the faults first. Nearly all the faults have been covered before and there are many pages of information to help you.

Hello all
I've just joined, having bought last week a 2016MY D4 SETech in Santorini Black. It's done 26k miles and seems to have lived a quiet pampered life as a second car in the Stockport area. I have had JLR products in my life since I was small - growing up on a farm, my parents had a Series II 109, various Series III 88s, a Defender 90 County and currently a Disco 1. I've had a Defender 90 van (along with lots of other things), so I hope I go into this with my eyes open. On the other side of the garage sits the J part in JLR, a 1994 6.0 V12 XJS coupe..
I have been pleased with the car so far and I thoroughly enjoy the tinkering and debugging a new (to me) car. This forum has been great reading over the last couple of weeks as I get up to speed on the quirks of the D4.... so next on the list is earthing strap check, external temp sensor check plus some new wiper blades / washer jet realignment.
Take care

I agree, and i spent a lot of quality time searching for potential errors and did narrow out my case as close as possible. Will apprechite if somebody can mesure voltage on ODB port between CANBUS high line and ground (pins 6 and 4) when ignition on but engine not working. As well measure as reference Voltage between pin 14 and 4 which is canbus low line. I did measurments in two differend points on my canbus TCM connector and ODB which are aparently on almost opposite sides and they are indentical but unfortuantelly not in range i expected, therefore i assume main error i have lost TCM comminication is not related to TCM wireing.

Hi folks
I'm new on this forum.
I've just deliberately gone and bought a broken D3, Yep, I'm mad
But I came across Mikeys thread on lifting the body, Found all the info I wanted so thought I would join.

Madness isn’t compulsory here but it certainly helps!
Welcome.

Re: First Post
“Broken” will be the perpetual status of your car, even once “fixed”!
Body off as a first job probably will increasingly be the norm! I guess you have a lot of ground to cover?
If you are not already aware there is a series of videos on YouTube documenting body off on a Range Rover sport which is a very similar car. “Salvage rebuilds UK” is the channel.

What's wrong with the car anyway?[/quote]
It was advertised as having suddenly lost power in France.
It still runs (or it did) but not very well, and smoked more than a trooper with an e-cig
I found lack of compression on cylinders 2&3, so took the head off, pistons are a bit poorly.
Engine is almost ready to go off to my engine builder now.
Amazing to think it’s done 200,000 mile and not got a modified oil pump😳 (yet)
