New to the forum
Hi all,
New to the forum. Just bought a 2009 Discovery 3 and have already used the forum for tons of info so thanks to all.
I've had a few LRs in the past including Defenders and Freelanders but this is my first Discovery. I love it!
Looking forward to getting to know the vehicle better and I'm sure this forum will be perfect in helping along the way.
All the best.

Chaps, I'm currently thinking of getting a front sump guard, I see a lot of mention of Uncle Rays guards, does anyone have a link to a website where I may find these ?
I have googled and I have searched, funny feeling it's RLD on here but for some reason I can't email him, probably because I'm new to the forums .

Can’t remember if you need 3 or 5 posts before you can send a pm but drop me a note back about the weather in Aberdeenshire and you’re there! (From an ex Methlick boy) I want to see the sweets before I get into your windowless van... I'm not stupid!

Hello from Canada
New owner of a 2007 Stornoway Grey LR3 SE V6. I did a lot of research on this site prior to purchasing so thank you all for your contributions! Looking forward to learning more from the experienced pros in the forum.
My LR3 is in great shape considering the 196K kilometers on the clock. First up are all the fluids and filters. Once that's done, I'm most likely going to be tackling the heated steering wheel conversion. If anyone has any tips on that one, I'd be happy to hear them.
Cheers,
George

Re: Will I regret it?
Hi Fido Nick. Welcome to to D3 ownership! I had 2 x TD5 manual Disco 2s before buying my 56 D3 Manual last year. The car is a massive step up from the D2s. I am doing more of my own work on this than I ever did on the other Discos but I am loving the tinkering and driving.
Enjoy. Paul

Hi,
I’m a new Discovery 3 owner. Since buying the car I’ve parked (2nd day today.) it up until I can verify the oil pump had been changed, while waiting for that I’ve been reading a lot of the guides that I’ve found around the forums and just wanted to say thanks for your helpful info, if it hand’t of been for that I’d have been driving around with my “new” disco thinking life couldn’t get better.
I’ve also been watching as many guides as I can and ordered parts/tools where required so I give her a full service, I’ve still to arrange a full gear box flush, but that’s on my list of items to do/check until the timing belt and oil pump has been changed.
