Hi all,
I have been lurking for awhile and completely forgot to post. I have moved across from the D2 boys club forum after losing my TD5 to a tree a few months ago. I ended up replacing it with a 56 plate HSE 3. The vehicles are worlds apart but I enjoy driving it and looking forward of a few years of enjoyment out of it.

Hi all, new to the site and the ownership of a disco 3, How do I go about getting some advice on some niggles ? Thanks
Welcome. Firstly I would recommend searching the forum as you probably aren't the first with a particular niggle. After that just post on the relevant section and make sure you have updated your car details (assuming you haven't already), so we know which car you are talking about.
Regards,
Steve

Hi all,, being a member of the RRS forum for some years now decided to officially join the disco forum after quite a few visits as a guest. Lots of very clever people on both forums,, always someone with an answer to a problem.

Hi all,
So I'm Mike, yesterday I purchased an 06 SE D3. It has a few niggles as to be expected at 14 years old but I'm hopeful that I can fix the vast majority myself with some help from you lot.
Jobs on the list so far are.
New O/S front Fog
Rear Parking sensors (button flashing)
Rear O/S seat release cable
Sound of air being forced into the car on acceleration from the centre console (no loss of power or smoke)

New here, looking to buy a D4 somewhere soon. But a bit scared because alot of people in my family saying “reliability issues”.
From what I see and read though, seems like the D4 is a pretty solid car.
So i’m here to get as much information as I can before buying.

Just bought my first roadworthy Discovery 4 HSE Auto in dark blue 142k miles
To be used for weekends to get the family to the caravan and possibly tow a boat on be a tow car for the restoration of my Suffix A Range Rover project.
It was cheap with a few known niggles I plan to sort out and also found a few more on driving some distance.
Central media screen/infotainment is blank - known before the sale going to try the remove +ve battery terminal and see if that works
I will check sunroof drains for water ingress but could do with any knowledge on this
Airbag light is on - known
Coolant level falsely reading low - known
slight oil leak with a drip appearing from the undertray - its a landrover
Wobbly around the straight ahead and slight loose feeling now - not know as test drive was around town could this be track rod ends or lower control arms
Need to book it into a good workshop nearby in Whitchurch for a service and cambelt as the service history does not seem to show any record of this any recommendations for Shropshire Cheshire

Welcome to all the new Disco owners - only now will you will realise how quickly she can empty your wallet
For those that have specific/general problems with their cars may I suggest you start by doing a "search" on the forum (search button is just below the Landrover pic at the top of the page) as alot of queries may well be already covered.
If you need help on a specific problem then may I suggest you start a new thread in the relevant section of the forum and the clever peeps will no-doubt be able to help Uncle Ray's spare wheel protector
Limo Tint
Blackvue front & rear dashcam
Cruise control switch pack
Bodsy's remote for FBH

Certainly good advice regarding the 'Search' option. Sometimes it's worth alook on the RR Sport forum too. Both have saved me a lot of time and money with the information that comes from the wide experiences of forum members.
