Hello every one I have just joined due to reading everyone having problems with the Discovery 3 instrument cluster, I was presented with the problem and have read everyone's views, yesterday I decided to strip the bounder out and have a look for myself, went write inside the and guess what! there is nowt to see apart from a load of leds, bits of processors and solder, had a rummage about checking for dry joints and hot spots, nothing to report on this one, BUT when I plugged it back in its fine how long for I will let you know, now when you unplug it the vehicle makes a real relieved noise like a breath of fresh air, I had it in bits so it was disconnected for at least an hour, so what I am saying is dont send it anywhere until you have plugged the back in, will update if out goes wrong with it.

Hi,
Just to say hello.
I've had my D3 about a month, picked up a very low mileage 2007 at auction. A couple of teething issues but then again its a LR. I learnt to drive in a series 3 while serving back in 1988, since then I've had a couple of 90s and a TD5 Disco.
Well done to the guys that run and support the forum, I always find them an excellent part of the tool box.

I bought myself a rather lovely Discovery 3 last weekend, with the intention of turning it into an expedition-ish vehicle.
I’ve got loads of Land Rover experience having owned a Defender for ages, and I had a great mechanic near Hitchin that I deferred to in all matters. However, he doesn’t get involved with modern, tech-heavy vehicles, and I won’t be able to use him on this project.
Where are the best independent Land Rover specialists within a reasonable distance from here, that I could use on an ongoing basis? The vehicle has a massive service history from a place in Dunmow, but it’s a tad too far, and I’d ideally like something substantially closer.
Thanks in advance. Apologies if this wasn’t the correct place to post this too!Propelled across the land in a carriage of no horse drawn, belching Satan’s black wind into our clean and local air.

Just an update on the D3 as its had a fair bit spent on it last 5days. Has a new MOT. Changed brakes to V8 all round, new rear prop, all front anti roll bar bushes to poly, new brake lines from rear wishbones through to front of car, steering column knuckle joint, both front lower suspension arms, full engine service, and 4x4 wheel alignment.
Am going to do the box service myself.
Pics of the V8 brakes from Advanced Factors behind my 18's 😁

Hi, my name is Matt. I own a L320 RRS SC 07'. I've known about this forum for some time but have joined to gain more info on the LR3/L320 rear locking diff. I'm interested in learning more about it toward the end of hacking together an aftermarket control for it and retrofitting my RRS.
