Also, the groove on top is the perfect place to store an umbrella, without it rolling all over the boot space
Edit......

What is this umbrella of which you speak, and what is it's purpose?

I only parts that I can imagine you could need would be two small buttons that are screwed to the seat backs to store the shelf when the seats are folded flat. The shelf can be placed in the space between the second and third row seats to fill the gap in the load floor. The shelf has two slots that fit over the two buttons.
When the shelf is in use is fits behind the middle row of seats in recesses that are moulded into the trim panels on each side of the car. The shelf can also be rolled up and placed behind the third row of seats when they are up. It fits at the level of the bottom of the windows and fills the gap between the seats and the tailgate.

Where is the secret curry hook in the front that the DII had? Nightmare picking up a takeaway in my DIII then driving and holding the bag at the same time..............
It's in the lower glove box... someone posted a picture but I can't find it.
If you open the lower box there are a couple of 'ridges' at either end which you can loop the carrier bag over.
There are also some 'cut outs' in the boot space for hanging carrier bags.As you slide down the banister of life

Sorry to drag up old threads but is this load space cover standard or an optional extra?
A couple of cars I've seen recently don't have them.
Thanks

Yes, which is why some of us that had them replaced under warranty now keep them in garage/loft/spare room as we want to make sure they are fully functional on the day we sell/trade-in !
