So I replaced my compressor earlier with a like for like Hitachi model.
Every thing went smooth until I realised the little clip that the bolt screws into was rusted and snapped. No where to get one same day and I really didn’t feel like waiting so I found another way that worked well.
I drilled through to the other side of the metal (drilled in easy no issues and only took a minute or so) and used a 100mm m8 nut and bolt to secure it in.
Worked really well and I doubt unless someone with more knowledge can say that it won’t cause a safety issue drinking a small hole in.
Here are the photos I took. If there are no safety issue and you haven’t got the clip on hand then this will work really well and is very secure.
