We all seem to be getting figures way lower than LR quote in their sales literature, perhaps its is time to get trading standards to take a look.
Agree, I don`t care that it only returns me 21.5mpg. But when they give mpg of 30.4mpg combined. Does seem to take the micky alittle.
Was hoping the software update cured itCars:-MY11 Evoque SD4 Pure, MY12 Defender 90 XS & MY08 Evo X RS

Think you may struggle on the trading standards route TBH ...but there is some guidance here http://www.vca.gov.uk/fcb/faqs-fuel-consumptio.asp21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021
So no hills are taken into consideration, and considering they weigh 2.5 tonnes hardly surprisingCars:-MY11 Evoque SD4 Pure, MY12 Defender 90 XS & MY08 Evo X RS

No hills I live on the Romney Marsh and it could not get any flatter.
I accept that they are not the most economical car. However, it is the fcat that figures are quoted that cannot be achieved by anybody and as such I believe they are miss leading and as such miss selling.MY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange

Would be interesting if someone did a longish run at 60mph then did a fillup. D3 auto would be between 30 & 32 for that.

Another thing to add to the mix - just how accurate is the speedo and maybe the odometer? I've got a GPS Speedometer on the iPhone which has always suggested the speedo is a bit out, but the other day I noticed the GPS and MOST speed readout in the diagnostics screen. Today I got a chance to compare, and was seeing a pretty consistent difference of about 5%, e.g.
Digital readout 110kph
LR GPS Speed 105
MOST speed 104.5 (fluctuating around this mark rapidly and continuously)
iPhone GPS 105
Long day and my brain hurts (literally), but I think this makes the consumption even worse!

I think we all drive the car and love it, fuel economey issue is more about false claims by LR than what we are actually getting to the gallon.MY17 D5 1st Edition Namib Orange

In the grand scheme of things fuel cost is hardly relevant. Depreciation is a much bigger factor. A difference of 10 mpg will make about £1,200 difference in a year, whereas depreciation variances would be many times that.
The D4 should hold it's value well - so you are better off with higher fuel consumption D4 compared to a faster depreciating less thirsty car which you don't really want!
Bottom line - don't worry about it. Just enjoy!Paul

Not sure if it was the LR wine offering, or something they did, but things are looking up
