Hmm I had that problem after I replaced my suspension arms. Because there is adjustment on all the joints of the suspension arms, my wheels were looking a little crosseyed until I got the wheel alignment done, and the steering angle sensor had cleverly worked out that things were wrong, and I got the over familiar fault then too.

Obviously when you are cornering, all the wheels are doing different speeds, and the computer allows for this, but when the steering angle sensor thinks you are turning, and in fact you are going straight, it cannot understand why your wheels are all the same speed and goes into fault mode. Fantastic technology, but too clever for it's own good sometimes!

Can this problem occur when replacing a headlight bulb? I see most of the posts relate to brake light bulbs. Will try to clean brake pedal switch anyway.

Big thanks to Mike Aitken 4x4 who diagnosed problem in 2 mins - turns out steering was showing 14% out! No obvious reason for this but quick recalibration done and all ok so far.

Hi

To confirm, I had HDC fault, no special programs and the suspension lowered, this was cured by replacing a rear break bulb. Bizarre how integrated all the wiring is but happy with cost of fix.

Good one D3!

This was on a 55 D3 TDV6 HSE by the way

My new brake light switch is waiting for Saturday morning. I'm going to change that and swap the battery and see how it goes.
