I like them, but It's a bit of a when an insect splats right over the sensor! Have a nice day!

slightly off topic, but it's always funny when I pull into a petrol station and the attendant decides to clean my windows. In Dubai we never switch the engine off (to keep the A/C going), so the wipers usually give the poor guy a slap to the head - and fir the life of me I can never remember how to switch them off.
Sick I know - but funny all the same, especially when I hold my hands up to show I'm not doing it on purpose.

Regarding the rain sensing wipers, mine does sometimes wait for a Niagara(Viagra?) Falls before wiping, at other times a weather report, forecasting rain in the radio, makes them go wild. And then again, sometimes the wipers are just working fine - but, mostly they are too sensitive.

Sounds about right. Nearly 5 months old and 7,000 miles later and they have just started to work normally. Obviously needed to be run-in! Mind you, my electric seat memory has started to lose its mind instead.......

My LR3 was purchased around 3 weeks ago and has this same problem. Living in the rain of Seattle it is unbearable. I finally pulled the fuse (#18 in the glovebox" which disabled the rain senor and headlight sensor. While I like the fact my lights came on automatically being able to see out the window without manually running the wipers was a bigger priority. Hopefully the service department can come up with a more elegant solution.

So how do the wipers function with the rain sense fuse removed?

the same as if you left the fuse in and operated them manually anyway. if the auto feature is not your cup of tea, just leave them in manual mode.

I can echo the views of DSL - I think they work perfectly.
I have read a lot of negative comments about rain sesinsing wipers on other makes of car, so I was prepared not to be impressed when I bought the D3. However, much to my surprise I found that they are fantastic - they always work exactly when and how I would operate them if I did it manually, just a little bit quicker

I agree with Catweasel, why bother removing a fuse when all you need to do is not put the wipers in auto sense mode in the first place
