Retrofit surround camera system to 3.0 HSE
Hello
my wife will be getting her discovery4 3.0 HSE next week, unfortunately she needed it asap so no factory order was possible.
The "missing" extras are TV, Camera System and Aux Heater.
What are my possibilities ? Is the wiring there and can the parts be odered ?
Has anyone had it chiptuned already and whats the gain ?
thanks,
Michael

The short answer is: no, those things cannot be retrofitted.

that is unfortunate....
so then all those component connections are within the loom that is car specific ? or is it separate looms ?
also, what do the aux inputs for the hav unit look like ? chinch or multiplug ?
sorry to ask tonz of questions....

To say it would be impossible would be too strong a term, but it would certainly not be cost effective and the car would have to largely taken to bits.

The wiring is, largely, not there. What you want to do is, essentially, not an option.
Of course, you can buy all the parts, and the wiring. After all, they are only parts, and you car is made up from parts too.
If you want to pursue the idea, then I suggest you acquire a copy of Microcat, and start to make a list of the large number of bits you will need. I suspect the parts would be much more expensive in Switzerland too.

I can help you with the part numbers of the looms and components you need to convert all you want, but first id need to know what looms you already have fittted and the part numbers on them.
The problem is that to provide this information you would need to take the car apart just to invesitgate what you have or have not got.
Then and only then can we help you with the bits you are missing to complete your task, and thats if landrover have actually got the bits available which they seem not to have for the heater and TV.
Baring im mind even if you can get all the bits and do the labour your self, i recon it would cost more than actually buying the car with it already fitted at the factory.
EG , i fitted a heated wheel to a D4 , the parts were probabaly 500 quid, and as far as im aware you can buy the heated wheel as a option for 107 quid.

Hiya All
I would tend to agree with Winger on this one.
Not because i think NO is the absolute right answer though.
Sorry chap, allow me to explain
Once upon a time many D3 owning members used to ask if lower spec cars and in particular their ICE could be upgraded to higher spec, and the answer was always NO.
Hell even 4x4 info was once a NO too,
But now many members get their D3 4x4 enabled and i have shown that the ICE can be upgraded and have even provided the vehicular reprogramming capabilities to do so. a number of members have followed my lead to some degree or other.
As Pete has shown, we already have the capabilities to enable 4x4 and much more on lower spec D4's however upgrading its equipment is prohibitively expensive due to the costs and difficulties involved in getting the bits required.
For example there are many bits for the D3 on Ebay and so on which allowed me to upgrade my D3 for not a lot, but even the most basic of updates to a D4 means you need to buy your bits new from a dealer which may make it prohibitively expensive.
Even figuring out what you may have and need is most difficult as it stands.
I am sure this situation will change as time goes by, but for now its definitely more NO than YES

I would be far more imaginative Del ...you know that 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021
