Look under Disco 3 for vehicle type, then scroll to the bottom of the 'Select a document' section and choose accesory fitting instructions. All the official accesory fitting guides are there free to download

Haven't fitted one myself but remember seeing something on the install. You have to remove the rear, tailgate door handle and the ladder locates along the top edge of tailgate and the bottom locates behind door handle.
I couldn't tell you if nuts & bolts are required or if they are longer to allow for the metal.ATB

Hanzo, should be some foam on the top bit where it hooks onto the top tailgate, stops it rattling around.A happy childhood ... is the worst possible preparation for life.

10 -15 minutes was a little quick, I used an hour, as I was unsure of how to get the trim off (plus I spent alot of time finding tools, as someone forgot to clean the workshop). In the end I just pryed one corner off
Anyway, I seam to remember you need torx bit, and deep and shallow 10mm sockects, and magnetic screw driver (to fish dropped nut).
9mm drill and som rivnuts. If I remmeber correctly I used M6 machine screws.
When remounting I used some electrical insulation tape to keep the nuts in the socket.
As mentioned, 3 ? screws on the bottom, open the back trim, then unbolt the door handle and then disconect the handle electrical connection, drill the holes larger for the rivnuts, insert and bolt on the ladder, reassemble.
Some pictures of when I did mine.
