My Bilstein Saga Continues.
My first set - seals failed - rebuilt by distributor
Rebuilds failed in less than 10K - Replaced with new
new ones are 2500km old, 6 weeks of road use only. Failing again.
This is no joke, the rears are now more thna 30K old and still great, the fronts are a mess, obviously I did not get a new production replacement set. First sign is some valve rattle in the mornings, then things go downhill fast.
Back to the distributor again this week.
GRRRRRRR
I think I might just get a complete assembly replacement OEM pari this time and ditch the front Bilsteins.

Old thread I know. Looked into bilstiens from Sydney shocks this week. They tell me the fronts are no longer sold as they never got them fixed. Is that the case elsewhere? Are the units for sale around the place just old stock? Anyone tried the Arnott / Bilstien complete units, available from HiDs.... Apparently developed by Arnott in the USA in conjunction with Bilstien, listed on E bay....... . Was looking at these to try and stop the sea sickness? John

I still think you are better getting complete Delphi struts. Easier to fit and not much difference in cost. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

Went for the Bilstien / Arnott units. Front end a lot tighter, had a few problems with the right height settings, had to have a full reset and calibration on the ride hight. Rides great now... J

Have not posted for a while.
In the end I replaced the bilsteins with OEM and sold my D3. I have had a great Defender for the last few years but today ordered a new MY16 D4. Just have to wait a couple of weeks till it arrives.
So much time and effort on those 3 dud pairs of Bilsteins I could never bring myself to buy them again

Hi Ginner, can you give some feedback after some months of use?
