EML is engine management light. With regards your EML illuminating after fitting the blanks, its my understanding that the valve stuck in the open position causes problems, but sealed off they dont, as there is no flow through them. I suggest you ask the same question in the technical section as someone may be able to advise you (and me!) better.
Regards
Graham

£5 per pair, got that. 2 quick questions (since I love the idea of having them in the glove box):
1. How may do I need (assume 2 - forgive me - but want to verify)
2. Do they come with all the necessary bits n bobs for fitting, eg grommets; bolts, etc, and if not what else is required in order for me to have all I need in my glove box to fix a problem that I don't yet have?

You need 1 pair @ £5.00 - thats it nothing else required. They fit in between the existing EGR inlet pipe, remove 2 existing bolts on the EGR pipe, slot them in (1 each side of the car) and re fit the bolts to secure the pipe back down. It is a DIY job but you will get your hands dirty, one side is easier than the other as well. HTH
