Gave the UK disco some attention
Replaced the DAB antenna/sharkfin as my sister walloped it on a low hanging electrical box in a car park back in 2019!
Replaced the starting battery and the aux/stop start battery. Stop / Start is working again.
Drove London -> Peak District -> Dartmoor -> Cornwall over the past week and had a blast on all the crazy narrow lanes. Pinstriped the heck out of the wings and doors.
Kerbed the wheels big time, whoops.
Who on earth thought it was a good idea to spec these cars with 20 inch wheels? They ride so much better on 18 inchers and kerbing is no longer an issue. I dont think i can justify a new set of wheels though.Chris

Picked up my new D4 on Monday. Noticed some glazing in the headlight. Simples, so I thought… while messing with the headlight lets upgrade bulbs to nightbreakers..
Took headlight off, glaze was inside.. weird.
Took off bulb dust cap. The h7 bulb holder was corroded and looked like it had been singed..
Maybe thats what caused the glaze? Anyhoot. Off to Halfords to get a new h7 bulb holder thing. Soldered that on (well husband did). We also notice a dust cap missed, LR parts wanted £15+ for one, managed to get one in ebay for £6 delivered - bargain.
We’re popping headlight back on when we look down in the front bumper to find the dust cap down there - doh! Oh and bonus, we found an old spanner under the grill 😂

Finally finished 2nd battery / 12v install
Optima Yellowtop in 2nd battery box under bonnet
Redarc DCDC charger mounted under driver's seat.
Bluesea Systems Low Voltage Disconnect, six fuse fusebox installed in the rear lefthand cubby.
Blueasea Systems 4-way sockets on the left-hand side of the boot
Bluesea Systems voltmeter installed next to LR 12v socket in the boot.
5 mini white/orange switchable LEDs (and switch) mounted on the upper tailgate.
Anderson connector on the left-hand side of the boot to support my fridge/freezer.
Emailed ProSpeed to enquire about the new roof rack release/availability. Was quoted two to three months until it's released.
Drove 800KM round trip to Riyadh in Saudi. We had planned to do some offroading but cut the trip short due to my daughter feeling unwell.Chris

Took a couple of trips to Al Hofuf in Saudi Arabia. After getting cocky, I thought I wouldn't bother airing down and got the car stuck in soft sand. Maxtrax to the rescue.
Replaced the front EAS valve block, hoping it would stop the front end from sinking overnight. It didn't.
After further investigation, the right-hand front shock was leaking. This was only detectable with soapy water when the car was at offroad height. I replaced both front air shocks today. The rears are stuck in customs, so hoping to get them out and fitted next weekend.
Flushed the brake fluid and replaced the rear flexible hoses with HEL performance braided lines. The front is still to be done.Chris

It was our first time there and my wifes first time in Saudi. The novelty factor kept it interesting.
We were going to go to the edge of the world but that wasn't to be. Will do it again, probably mid December.
Done a fair bit to the car these past weeks.
New air springs all the way around. I got the BWI ones from advanced factors and they appear to be original spec as they have had the "Land Rover" mark ground out during manufacturing before being painted. Fronts were not too bad (I had to remove the wheel arch liner on the passenger side only to get enough access) and the rears were an absolute doddle.
New rear ARB bushes and drop links. Bushes were easy, drop links were hard work due to me not having the ideal tools. Replaced because the boots were perishing on the drop links, and the bushings were nice and accessible.
Today I replaced the two front hub assemblies as the driver side was completely and the passenger side was slightly . Again, surprisingly easy to do and there are good videos on youtube. Chris

Today I diagnosed a clunking sound that I first noticed several days back when offroading as a front right hand half shaft. This car is really testing my patience with regards to needing new parts recently.
Over the past couple of weeks we've put about 2500 kilometres on the car via trips into Saudi. We've done "The Edge of the World" twice - via different routes, we've seen "Judah's Thumb", we've been in the sand a little, and we've done a lot of highway driving.
On Saturday I noticed a stored fault code P0137-00. I cleared it and within about 15 minutes it was back. It seems likely that https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2015/SB-10105583-9340.pdf is related. Some more investigation required. This isn't illuminating the CEL.
I'm also getting an intermittent AFS error light and related stored faults - this happens usually after travelling over rough ground or corrugations. Some investigation required. I'm hoping its a loose connection to the ECU or similar. Switching the car off and back on clears the light and AFS starts to work normally again.Chris
