Steering Wheel

Upgraded my D4 multifunction steering wheel today.

Swapped it out for an RRS multifunction wheel with paddles, heated option and ACC buttons.

Fitted a new genuine clock spring with the heated option cable socket.

Found the tucked away heated feed in the existing loom.

Bought the custom file from GAP to enable the paddles to work on my 6 speed via a transmission ECU firmware uprade.

Reflashed with the iid bt tool.

All now fitted, enabled, firmware upgraded and working.

The ACC project is one I intend to do in the medium term, but I have the ACC ECU and radar unit on the way.

Neil

Fitted Shire tree sliders and collected my facelift front bumper I had taken into a paint shop for painting.

Sliders were Raptor coated by me before fitting and allowed to cure for 7 days. I also fitted grip tape to the upper surface of the sliders.

How much was it to get the bumper painted? Thinking of upgrading my bumper too.

The painting was £150 (from a proper body shop with premises) . However, all the other quotes I received were between £300 and £500, so I'd say the 'norm' in the London area was about £350 as an average.

This included a small repair and a complete colour change ie it wasn't a repaint in the same colour.
