I've got rear guards on mine, so those would have to be replaced by the D4 version as well - more money!!! Shocked

Oh and, err ... Don't Hassle the Hoff!

So have I got the rear guards that will make the LED lights pucca, and yes they will fit as they are D3 LED's and not D4 (not sure if there is a difference)

Shocked Just read up on these lamp units, can somebody confirm Yey or Ney that if fitted to a D3 that did'nt have these OEM, that a warning bulb on the dash will illuminate due to lower voltage drawn.

One for TLO me thinks, canny be arsed with warning lights on the dash TBH.

Only asking DG cos I read this

(excuse the link please)(not intended to aid a sale)

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Land-Rover-Discovery...286.c0.m14

Read the description, as it says it there. I know nowt about the electrickery thing, but know these are plug n play, so if I am to suggest these to SWMBO as a stocking filler for Xmas then I would like to know if plug n play.

It's been a long term complaint on the D3 that you can't tell if a lamp has blown because there is no indicator on the dash. Whether they have resolved this on the D4 I don't know TBH but the seller might sell other types of LED for vehicles that do report blown and low voltage and this may be his usual script Wink

There's no problem (or warning) with LED's as side or brake lights (I've fitted some myself), but LED indicators don't draw enough power for the flasher unit. Maybe LR have fitted a resistor for the indicators into the lamp housing, which would make the whole unit a direct swap?

I think that's what they did to the D3 style LED's as extras pictured above, but don't know if it's the same for the D4 LED's (The ones without the nasty chrome around the edges)

i have led indicators at the back.the bulbs come with a resistor that is wired in across the indicator wires.
they work really well[asking for trouble] and the resistor stops the lights flashing really fast like they do if a bulb is out
dunc Thumbs Up

Don't the D4 rear LED lights come with a black border instead of D3 accessory chrome finish ?

LED Lights

Hi All
I was out with the dog today and saw an Ivory coloured Disco 3 all colour coded it was a bit unusual never seen one that colour before and it had those cone shaped LEDs.
I have to say they were horrible they looked very aftermarket and I wouldnt pay the money that LR want for them they didnt do the car justice it looked like something you would buy of Fleabay
I really wanted a pair of these until I seen them today now Ive changed my mind so would be interested in the newer ones any one got any pictures.
thanks
mike
