Hi all,
Now I love my D3 to bits, but the EPB is now driving me mad to the point its now given up! Usual screeching noises, now question is....
Have LR actuall come up with a fix for this?
or any recalls?
Its a 06 plate with only 34k on the clock and full LR service history, warranty is now with warranty direct...
Tomorrow im taking to LR dealer, no doubt wont be able to nowt with it (being a Saturday), but any help would be good,
Any advice or wisdom?
cheers

Yes, you can fix yourself.
Look in my gallery and then in my "stuff" folder. There's a zip file with the epb adjustment instructions in Bodsys Brake Bible

Why is the EPB on the Discovery such a big deal? We had a Renault Scenic ( and in equal parts) for four years without a bit of bother and on that car it came on by itself every time the button was pushed to turn the engine off.

To be fair, I can lift a scenic corner, but the disco is 2.7 ton and the epb IMO just can't cope with being beefed up so much. That's a hell of a weight to be able to stop rolling.
When you get the squeel, the way to keep it working is to adjust it as soon as possible otherwise it could end up a lot more expensive.
Glad you got it sorted Ringosmeg Bodsys Brake Bible

To be fair - would the Megane EPB have worked if you'd driven it through mud or two feet of water regularly?
We had a Megane - just leaving it outside in the rain led to water in the ECU and a £600 bill

Well I don't need to worry then if its deep muck that knackers the EPB, the most mud mine sees is when I accidentally reverse one wheel off my drive onto the lawn when it's wet.
Although I desperately hated the Scenic (16l petrol = gutless, gearshift = wooden spoon in a box of marbles) the only fault it had in 70+ thousand miles was a camshaft sensor replaced under warranty.
