Performance Exhaust for V8's |
|
Are there any worthwhile aftermarket exhausts out there? I was also thinking of maybe doing a custom one because I know that V8 would sound great with less restriction. Had a look at the factory setup, and it has 4 mufflers not including the cats (which do muffle a good amount). That and the fact that the factory exhaust has lots of bends that could be sorted out. I'm thinking side pipes that wouldn't stick down too low would be bad ass.
Any thoughts?

View it here at www.projectkahn.com
The thing that is making me not want it is what you stated it has 4 pipes that stick below the rear bumper... 2006 LR3 HSE Tonga Green

Overfinch also sell tuned exhausts for Land Rover products and they have representation in the USA. Their website is here http://www.overfinch.com/

If I was going to go aftermarket I'd probably wait for Borla to come out with a kit. Because they have really top notch stuff, although expensive. I am seriously considering doing a custom job though, any thoughts or experience with this sort of project would be helpful.
Project Kahn doesn't look like it is worth the money to me, although it is another start for aftermarket parts for the disco/lr3 so I'm all for that.
Overfinch doesn't seem to offer anything for the Disco as far as I could find, they probably have stuff in the works or else they are just dumbasses.

There is also J E Engineering in Coventry www.jeengineering.co.uk don't know if they have representation in the USA though. They specialise in tuned exhausts for all models of Land Rovers and also engine upgrades.

LR3 = "Performance"? Bizarre... |
|
I'm not sure SVC went beyond prototyping for LR3 (there was some pre-marketing from last November)... or maybe their web site just isn't updated very often:
LR3 offerings from SVC (not much):

The real performance is the "2 x SVC window stickers"

That and SVC's prices seem outrageous for their other products, so no way. I swear I saw a U.S. company that had a system, but I can't remember it now.

Overfinch won't be doing much on Disco 3/LR3... since it caters to the high-end "Range Rover" market. Since RRS is virtually the same as LR3, at least you can buy their wheels. 8)

I can still see Borla making a kit.
But now i'm really curious about a custom exhaust design.

Your explanation deesn't make sense. Their site shows items that state "requires installation at SVC facilities" for other vehicles, including the Range Rover Sport.

Not updating their web site makes more sense. 8)

What I meant was that they do sell it but you will have to have them do it by shipping your LR3 there... 2006 LR3 HSE Tonga Green
