Slight Steering Wheel Shake?

Not sure where this sits so will go general

I have noticed in the last few days that at lowish speeds (50mph through motorway roadworks) there is definite shake in the steering wheel. Is this the tracking gone on the tyres, any ideas?

Hi there,

I had a similar experience until I got my ball joints and bushes at the front replaced.

Not occured since.

Get them checked because they are a noted problem on the D3

Shocked Think I may have this too Big Cry , was putting it all down to the knackered locking nut being bashed about, and that there is a different weighted lock nut to the other side.

Does it cost alot to rectify, or does Tesco cover this

I would not spend any money on having it looked at until you get the lock nut sorted (and soon), you risk getting totally stranded and the breakdown services will be more than a little bit p Censored d off if they find out how long you have had the problem for Thumbs Up

Just (today) had new tyres fitted - so smooth - like a new car
Tracking was about 8mm out apparently - causing uneven wear, hence shake at c. 70 - 80 mph
My mate at ATS reckons get tracking checked every 6 months tp prolong wear - one front was so bad could see canvas Embarassed
Worth a try

It does make a difference new boots.

In the last month I have had brand new front wishbones, ball joints, bushes etc and 4 new AT2's!!

Also had it all lasered up for geometry and its liked driving a new Disco - unreal feeling of solidity.
