In theory Free I guess, but its a Safety Recall and I guess OIL contaminating the Brake System would render the fluid near on useless. Just make sure you clarify it when it goes in

Before they start pulling your engine bay apart, they should replace the vacuum tube/valve with the newly designed parts.
They should then inspect the old tube and the servo and if they find it to be free of oil, then they should just end the job there and not touch anything else.
If they find any oil in the servo or master cylinder push rod (as they almost always will), the must then change the other bits (servo and/or master cylinder) - in this case, they will have to change the brake fluid for new. 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE Auto Buckingham Blue

ok think my disco falls into bracket. LA4408##. taking into consideration that mine is commercial, but dont think it makes any difference, Should i be expecting a letter from Land Rover even though in the 2years i have owned the disco i have never received anything in relation to recalls or similar!! Is it safe to presume i wont be receiving these two either?
any body any advice on what action i can take over here apart from bursting down the door of my regular LR dealer waving these recalls in his face. Im sure he's first question would be is "what are these??" 07 Discovery 3 TDV6 Commercial (Java Black) with:

I thought it was my imagination that my brakes were less efficient than when I bought the car until this fault was highlighted.
So I checked and found oil in the vaccuum line, contacted dealer, "sorry sir your car is too old for the recall, contact LR Customer services if you are unhappy with our lack of interest in your safety".
Contact LR, nice lady says" I will talk to LR Technical". Call back from nice lady, " your car has a number of outstanding recalls, when last was it in a Main Dealer? 4 or 5 times in May this year, once for a week while they fitted a new turbo. Oh, they have neglected to update the history details or checked for the safety recalls. I will make a call and sort it out, says nice lady.
And she did. Apologetic call from Taggarts, car been in and had all 3 recalls done, including the brake booster one, despite the car being out of the VIN range quoted.
Overall, delighted with LR Customer Services manager (nice lady). Dissappointed the dealer needed a boot up the backside to action the recalls.
Ho-hum. Car back and washed last night, so all is well again.
Moral is that if you have oil in the vaccuum line, contact the technical support team . The VIN range is more of a guide than a rule apparently.

Legacy4cam, I have just had a call from "nice" lady who tells me there is nothing wrong with mine! Story carries on from my earlier post on OCt 2nd, Into Ripon on monday, oil found in vacuum pipe and in brake booster.Ripon rang LR Customer Service and told to keep vehicle and send technical report. Nice lady rang me on monday pm to say would have an answer for me on Tuesday. I rang her.Told would be wednesday for answer.I rang wednesday, told she would ring me when she had an answer. She has just rung me to say that Technical ( who I am not allowed to speak to) say It is OK on my car to have oil in pipe and in booster. It does not require any work. I pointed out that the dealer says it does and their own workshop procedure for the recall says it does. I have asked her to get it all put in writing by "technical" I will then decide my next steps. After 30plus years of owning L Rover products this could be the end. Any comments will be gratefully received.
( Admin - this could involve lots of members vehicles.Should it go in "General" to catch everyone?)
Cheeres, a very saddened owner.

Speak to them again and say you have recorded the conversation and would like it confirmed in writing.
This is getting bad. Landrover are playing with lives here.
There is evidence of this problem leading to complete failure of boost pressure. Someone in SA went sailing through an intersection as a result.
Do you have govenment deot that deals with recalls?
Yiu would need to contact DOTARS here. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

Hi all, I've just been contacted by my dealer who is asking for the car for a day for a recall on the fuel system and brakes. Any ideas what this is about?

Brakes are probably the Oil in Servo issue, VacPac failure, and if found you will need a new servo, vacpac and new fluid.
Not too sure about the Fuel System issue, but sure someone will enllighten you
