nwoods The two block conectors you can see are where the trailer hitch wiring is conected. well it is on my vehicle. If you take a look at your third photo if you look in the background there is a pair of wires coloured purple/green and a black one. On my vehicle they have a double female spade socket on the end, the power sock just pushed straight into it. I'll try to get a photo of it. i had to feel aroung the rear of the panel blind to find it.

Locsuna, thank you very much for your help. I would NOT have assumed that lead stuffed WAY up in there was for the power outlet. Good bit of sleuthing to figure that one out.
I extracted that wiring loom and connected it, and then fit the receptacle in place. The little plastic ears that are on the receptacle make for a snug fit. I had to whack the thing a few times with the palm of my hand to seat it properly, but it's in and works just fine. It would be nice if it ran straight to battery, but then, so should my seats!

Yes, but I don't think I have it here at work....
I will post it tonight (Pacific Time), but hopefully you can get it from the dealer direct so you don't have to make repeat trips.

Thanks nwoods, got to the dealer before I got your reply, of course they couldn't figure out the correct part number. I told them my good friends on disco3.co.uk could help me out, as WE know more about our trucks than THEY do anyhow. Thanks again.was 00 D2 > then 04 D2 > now 05 LR3

Hello,
Because my hobby is RC sailplane too (common hobby for D3 owner sure 8) ), I am interested to mount this 12V socket too on my 2005 D3 TDV6 HSE 5 seats version.
I buy the small socket part. It cost only 6.83 Euros here in France
and try to mount it.
Using the pictures of this thread I search for the pair of wires coloured purple/green and the black one..... and find.... nothing
On my vehicule, the 2 grey block connectors are connected to "something" too.
Do you have an idea ?
Best regards,
PS : excuse my english, it is not my mother's language Jean-Christophe

Nicko
Afer i posted that question i found that id blown the fuse.
I ended up tapping into a permanent heavy power wire that was being used to power the caravan as well as wiring in another one to the existing connectors
Cheers

How to reach the socket hole with the hiden wires??
Hi All
I have found the purple/green and black wires qith the female socket, but they are to short to reach the socket hole in the luggage area, and they are almost hiden in the above part of the great hole where nwoods have found the wires.
Anybody knows if to wire to the socket place is necesary to dismount any plastic cover above where the windows is ( the plastic cover that haves the hole for drinks, and one plastic box to leave things) in order to split the 12v socket wires from other wires and have enough wires lengh to reach the socket place?
How can I dismount this cover?? ( in seems to be one hole piece along the rear side window in the lugagge area) Must I be carefull not to damage any plastic clips?
Thank youThanks all

I don't think you will have to remove the upper plastic cover. You should be able to lay on your back and put one arm into the hole. The wires actually start from down below, go up, and then turn down again. You just need to figure out what yours are hung up on. If you can trace the wires up by touch, you should find your obstruction and free the wires.
Having said all that, I have seen photos on this forum of the upper plastic trims removed. I can't remember who though! I would try pulling straight out. Most of these peices can be removed with a good solid tug.
Cheers,
NW

What would I have done without DISCO3? I wanted a 12V outlet installed in the cargo area. Bought the power socket, stumbled on the great instructions and photos (kudos!) in this thread, fought the rear panel for about 30 mins ( the connector was caught between the rear panel and rear AC unit), got my hand up there and viola! I now have an outlet in the cargo area. Truly plug n play.
Ok, there's one "after the fact addition" off my to do list.
Cheers!
