thinking of leaving......having a ++++ time |
|
well, owing to the sh te circumstances i'm in with our freeholder (posted elsewhere) starting to think i might need all the money i can get for solicitors etc etc.
feeling a little guilty/ blue at the amount of money i spend on fuel and half thinking 20mpg is a waste and i could downsize to something like a panda or 500 deisel and get somewhere around the 70mpg mark ( as my old man is,, 77mpg )
do i really need a 2 1/2 ton 4x4 to carry my surfboards 3 miles to the beach?
do love it on here though, feel have made good friends even though have only met one or two of you, and yes that includes you mollers...
would my money be better spent elsewhere?
for thinking like this,,,, but am in a dark patch...
on a +. the red arrows did themselves proud todnight in falmouth esp considering the low cloudbase. shame they couldn;t do the full shooting match but safety first and all that, great show boys... te time one wife.......livid

All depends on how may miles you do, and your sure to loose money on any sale/p-ex to change to a cheaper car.
So you have to ask yourself is it worth it? Lets face it, driving either a D3 or a Panda, the day will still be . If I'm going to have a day, then I'd rather have one in a D3. Simple

Ad15,
Really sorry to hear that, Read you other post re the flat and though what a b'stard thing to be going through.
A lot of us are feeling the pinch at the mo but TBH the only thing keeping me sane from driving 60 miles from here to my office in Surrey on the A41 / M25 / A3, is my D3, music on LOUD, windows down (mostly unless its summer weather and pi**ing down), cup of good coffee and a fecking big as I look down at all the other sorry SOB's on the road..
Do your best to keep it and the chin up - D3 a great place to escape in / to* (Delete as appropriate)..
Good luck mate. FORECAST FOR TONIGHT: things have happened out there!!!

hi neil, not sure if i posted an update,
the c t is now taking all of the tenants to small claims court for the outstanding money owed.
to clarify there are 5 tenants who are all in dispute with the a+hole freeholder because he has shown willful neglect of his obligations in the lease, ie to maintain the roof and outside walls of the property.
now to be honest I'd have dumped it a coule of years back if it wasn't for the fact that the value is down 20% and we'd be - equity to the tune of 30 odd k. if we sold we'd not owe the bank becuase we put down a sizeable deposit of hard earnt savings..
now it looks like the whole lot is going up the pipe and we're getting screwed for a new roof, all because he cant be ars ed to look after it,
we've got proof etc etc but we're at teh stage where we are wondering if it is worth all the stress of dragging it through the court. legal aid says to fight it but we dont qualify for aid,
my work is offshore so technically i can't claim s t. all i can do is pay and be miserable...
sorry neil.. feel free to skim... one wife.......livid

You own two houses and dodge UK taxes? And get to live near the beach? And own a D3?
Sounds like you're really struggling.

On the upside, yeah the Red Arrows were superb. They're at Fowey next week. We took the Oldies out on the rib to join the mass flotilla watching from the water.

heapster, it does look rosy, but it certainly aint swmbo has a 17m shoebox bought as a student for 20k euros..
the americans paid for the d3, the tax thing is a bit of a pickle, right birds nest,
the flat up by london is a nightmare court, stress and a freeholder that needs shooting..
but living down here does make up for alot of it..
sorry, there are people in situations far worse then me and i should be grateful for what i have..
everyone is allowed to get down once in a while though... one wife.......livid

dave,
on the subject of moving your business down here... DO IT as soon as you possibly can.
Our quality of life has gone up SO much just because of location, being able to get out and about surf/ walk etc etc. even just to go sit on a cliff and watch the storm seas..
in stark contrast to my old job where i spent 240 days a year flying between 45 different countries and living in a state of perpetual jetlag...
the funny thing is i am actually doing exactly the same job for a diferent company but now get to utilize the internet and phone, travel alot less but when i do it's when i need to not out of habit...
such a difference for both of us...
and as a bonus as the business grows we will be employing people down here and bringing some money into the county.. one wife.......livid
