Is it the ABS or the stability control?

First of all my tyres are worn, they have about 2 months use left. So when ever i corner hard, you hear the tyres screeching. However when ever i'm going hard around a round a bout or make a hard left hand turn, the front left tyre seems like it's rubbing against something. It almost like a shuddering, and the vehicle does slow down. I checked this morning and there were no signs of a rubbing. Also last night as soon as i got in and tried to check then, the left hand side had a burning smell (equivalent to when you apply the brakes too much). SO i was wondering if its a problem or is it the stability control or the ABS, because its under duress while cornering or its another problem. I'm about to sell so i need to know if i should alert the new owner

Sounds like the traction and stability control systems kicking in to me, if the car is starting to lose grip when in a fast corner it will kick in to regain control.
