Do you have oil in the vacuum line or have experienced loss of brake assist.

Oil in Brake Booster

LR have issues a re-call at least in some regions for this.

See Thread: http://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?p=503670

There are two issues with different Vin ranges.
I am just trying to find out how many have oil in their booster lin or brake higher pressure required.

Check in your brake booster line for oil (open the connector next to the brake booster and tap it on your finger)

Check your VIN number and answer the poll.

Only answer if you have experienced an issue or have (or have had) oil in the line.

Bumping the thread as no one has posted. Sad

I am trying to see if earlier VINs should be included in the recall.

caverD3 - my VIN has two more As between the LA and the numbers. My VIN (SALLAAA136A35xxxx) is prior to the stated recall range.

But I have not experienced any brake problems other than (premature) wear and subsequent replacement of pads and discs.

Thanks Leigh
Did you check the pipe for oil?

Please remind me again where to physically check. (Not sure where the oil would be visible.)

Hold the presses. Surprised

Dealer has just told me LR have held off on the recall as there are some new parts and they are saying they will be extending the VIN range.

Leigh if you undo the connector just on front of the brake booster in the spare battery box. Tap the end onto your finger and see iff there is any oil (obvious if there is) Remember to re-attach the connector. Wink

Hmm... mine is booked next Tuesday - to have the whole brake system replaced. I bet it is just my luck, that they will install new parts - with the same fault! Rolling Eyes

Give them a ring and check what is happening. They didn't do mine. Just keep an eye on the pressure needed to brake.
