TESCO WARRANTY first claim turned down
I'm sure this been asked before and I did do search before posting but I could'nt find anything, so my apologies if this going over old ground. My D3 started schreeching everytime the handbrake was applied this Saturday, knowing it's a common problem I didnt panic especially as I had taken the Tesco car plan out before the warranty expired in April. Just been told as there is a motor that needs replacing that my warranty dose'nt cover it. It's the middle cover that I have taken due to my car doing over 65k miles already.My question is as any body else had any issues with Tesco's warranty, from whats on the cover I still think it's good value but a bit poor if the hand brake is'nt covered. JavedD3 Base, 19inchFFRR WHEELS,SATNAV,PARROT KIT,CHROME WING MIRRORSI, AUTOLOGIC REMAP AND a FAT CHOC LAB IN THE BACK.

Have they said why it's not covered??? Had claim for a brake caliper rejected as they don't cover water ingress (caliper seized as rusty as hell) but they did say why it was rejected.

Looking at a tesco plan for my d3. So would water ingress be covered or not on the LR extended warranty. I have something to say! It's better to burn out... than to fade away!

Hi there,
I have the Tesco middle cover after paying last year for the LR Extended Andrex
The Andrex didnt cover repairs to my EPB either, or ball joints. Wear and tear apparently, yet everybody on here know these were never fit for purpose.

I am cosidering warranty wise at present after a £1200 bill for 2 ERVs and rear discs and pads
Has anyone tried them, they look reasonable, especially for older cars when compared to Tesco.

ERVs, is that EGRs???? If so AFAIK Tesco covers them, unless I'm wrong. No warranty would disks & pads though, just the cost if keeping the beast on the road.

Have been looking round for warranties since my last trip to the local dealer, a bit late I know but better late than never!
Looking at the Tesco option, for me it didn't really fit the bill as I a close to 60,000 miles I would come in the standard level rather than the finest. With this in mind I have gone for warrantywise, which seems to give at least the same level of cover as Tesco but will carry on for the time I have the car, you can also set the labour rate you want, so if you have a decent local specialist then the policy would be cheaper. Worth a look for those with older, or higher milage cars.
I suppose there is only one test of how good it is when something breaks again, knowing my luck it won't now

You only have to be below 60K miles when you start the policy, once you have it the mileage is unlimited for the 12 months, so if your on 59K you can still get the finest warranty

Whilst I could get the Tesco now for 1 year at a slightly better price, the price with Warrantywise now will keep it going for as long as I want up to 3 years, at the same monthly price (or lump sum if you want), for the same cover. After I had filled in the form I didn't do anything else for a few days, then they phoned me and reduced the price by £100, so for me, Warrantywise appears to be the best (only a claim will tell).
