My Air con still in't working, it has been to the specialist who have changed the pump unit, checked gas etc and everything seems ok but it isn't blowing cold. I have tried it on lowest setting and it still won't blow cold. It is going to a LR specialist on Fri but I am not confident after last time I took it to him. Any ideas? Also a member of avforums.com

The specialist should sort it for you... if they have fitted a new compressor and its still not working they need a slap. Go and find a real specialist.
A few ideas....
Air con wont work without gas... is it loosing gas ? the condenser coil at the front is easily damaged, the AC specialist should be able to put some die in to show up leaks under UV light ?
Is the fuse blown on the condeser fan (the front radiator) or the compressor clutch ? Set on low temp, switching on the AC you should hear an audible click as the compressor clutch engages, and the fan should come on.
Hope this helps... Got our Disco... Love it.....

have you/they checked the controls - it may be the control panel. I had a problem on our jeep a couple of years ago where it just wouldnt blow cold are and it turned out to be the control panel. I wouldnt have reliased this unless the fans hadnt stopped working shortly afterwards. I replaced the dash control panel with a second hand one off ebay and it was fine. Duncan

Find a car aircon specialist, the trouble with the dealers is that they have a machine that they plg in and does all the work for them, a specialist will do it the old fashioned way with gauges etc.
My work Nissan navara was regassed by the main dealer twice, then a specialist found a pinhole in the condenser using a nitrogen flush and a sniffer...
Once the specialist found the fault which Nisan did not i got them to refund the two regasses and the specialst cost. Got our Disco... Love it.....

Sounds like you need to take it to dealer as the so called specialists seem to lack the specialist knowledge 2020 BMW X1 18d XDrive X-Line Auto

I have a connection that isn't doing anything near the battery cover, any ideas? I will get a pic.
I have taken the centre console air con off and played with the connections, when I turn econ on/off I can hear a damper in the vent system move but no pump etc kicking in. Also a member of avforums.com

Hi Mal, i had a word with my brother who fixes these things as well as lorry mounted freezers etc, He said there could be many things but, having told him roughly what you had done,
1 poss heater valve not fully closing
2 unit does not know its warm ( internal temp same as or warmer than outside temp or not talking to each other
3 there is a flow valve not real name cant remember it but its close enough in the system this may be blocked. and thus not allowing gas to circulate.
try putting heater on full till inside of car really hot, then try air con on full cold and recycle on cools air in car not new air from outside. that should rule out 2, see how you go, i am away for a week or so on hols as of tomorrow.

OK thanks will try that tomorrow.
It seemed to work OK before the pump bearings went so they have replaced the pump so it seems something they have done or not connected Also a member of avforums.com
