also, lubricate (with some silicon) the two spring loaded wedges either side of the upper tailgate (I'm taking about the mating faces, not the springs themselves), as it took me ages to find a knocking from the back on mine, turned out to be the upper tailgate doing it when it moved.

Will just remove the spare wheel...
I won't tighten the winch too much just enough to prevent damage while driving...

Why not let it all the way out and cable tie it to the rear recovery eye I believe that every human has a finite number of heart-beats. I don't intend to waste any of mine running around doing exercises.

Or get the dwarf to hold it. That way his hands will be occupied and he can't knock. I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Thansk NODO$H for the gonads explination I found them swinging midair on the last undercarriage examination.
Most alarming to find my girl has a pair of nads .........
So what's the full story on them, are they just danglers or are they hooked up to a nad meter that sends messages to the nad brain that corrects the swing of the car?

Turns out to be the Steering column knuckle joint has broken...!!!
LR dealer performed an inspection and found it within an hour...still under warranty so work is covered..
Asked him do these things go within 2 years and he said that LR parts are cheap but very soft and they don't last too long...
His final words were welcome to the big bad world of LR....!!!!!
So its going in on monday to have the work done...

That is an unusual one. Many folks have done lots of serious off-roading with seeing it go. “There are only three sports: bullfighting, motor racing, and mountaineering; all the rest are merely gamesâ€

Dwarf knuckles
Sorry 2DISCO3ORNOT, missed your previous question. The danglers are just good old harmonic resonance dampeners, they counter the inherent inertia in the chassis and drivetrain and counter the jarring you might ovtherwise get.
To see what it would be like without time, take a fully laden L200 over some stutter-bumps as you approach a 30mph limit from 60 and be thankful we have them I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

I had a aluminium water bottle in the rear door that made clonking noises. It toke me 2 days to find out it was the water bottle. Roel

When they're properly installed it's not a problem. It's those who manage to get out of the handcuffs that make all the noises - and they will keep moving around the car, damn them! I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.
