So, after an accident last night when I managed to nudge my lights back into the radiator, I'm considering doing the ARB winch bar replacement, instead of new LR bumper and nudge...
It makes a lot of sense - expecting/hoping to be doing more trips now; but aesthetically, I still liked my more original looking front-end...
Does anyone have any pics of an ARB bar on a dark coloured D3 - most of the pics I've found are on lighter coloured vehicles.
Oh - and is anyone running 32" tyres with the ARB bar????

Can't help with the dark colour. I had a similar, but bigger collision about 18 months ago. With a damaged bumper and holed radiator, it cost less to put on an ARB bar + winch than the cost of a replacement D3 bumper. So in essence, I got the winch for free. If your radiator is being replaced, I also suggest you have all the hoses replaced and keep the old ones (makes up my spare set for long trips). One thing I forgot was to take a bunch of pictures of the front end when dismantled. Steering wheel on the wrong side because the pic was taken via a mirror.
Re the ARB bar, it weights 55kg but you take off about 15kg to put it on so net weight +40kg, and it comes with bashplates so deduct that weight too if you're running them already, plus your nudgie. I suspect your total +weight will be in the order of around 25-30kg.
Personally for your card I'd colour-code it. For lighter cars with black wheelarches I think it looks better left black.--

the ARB steel bar weighs only 55Kg? I though they were close to 100Kg! It's not an aluminium one is it (although the pic looks like a steel bar)?
Is the TJM steel bar of similar weight?

The ARB bar is steel. ARB don't believe in anything other than steel for bullbars. Yes it weighs 55kg. As a comparison, a 200 Series alloy bar weighs 40kg. The 100kg figure would need a winch (+40kg) and other accessories like lights. In other words, adding an ARB bar won't collapse the front suspension.--
